The Folio Prize List

imagesThe list of 80 books for the Folio Prize will winnow down to a shortlist of eight finalists soon in February – not enough time to read all the books identified as ” the best fiction of our time, regardless of form or genre…”

Kent Haruf’s Benediction (read my review by clicking heremade the shortlist last year.  Our Souls at Night, the last novel by Kent Haruf, who died at 71 in November, will be published in May.

On this year’s Folio Prize list, I’ve read and reviewed only two:

  1. All the Light We Cannot See
  2. The Night Guest

I’ve read All the Light We Cannot See, Fourth of July Creek (I highly recommend it) and The Tenth of December, a great short story collection.
